I wear a few different hats: I’m the Technical Facilities Manager for NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (CDI), an Electrical Engineer Intern at Voyant Photonics, and an independent Electrical Engineering Consultant.
At CDI, I manage facilities featuring large-format analog consoles, Studer 24-track 2” tape machines, Avid HDX systems, and 22-speaker immersive environments (including Dolby Atmos). I also develop custom web applications for internal use and oversee an equipment room stocked with a massive variety of microphones and musical instruments.
My work at Voyant Photonics involves collaborating with the EE team on designing, testing, and reworking PCBs at their NYC headquarters. My independent consultancy focuses on custom hardware and software creations, bridging the gap between design and functional prototypes.
Selected Projects
- CDI Facilities Booking Application: Sole developer of a custom, full-stack resource management system used by the Clive Davis Institute for over seven years. Built with a React frontend and a Node.js/Express backend using MySQL, the entire codebase is written in TypeScript to ensure long-term maintainability and type safety.
- EMT 250 Reverse Engineering & Repair: For my undergraduate capstone, I reverse-engineered the world’s first digital reverberation processor. I developed a custom debugging interface to step through the code of its internal 1970s minicomputer, which facilitated the successful repair of four of these rare units.
- NYU Nanolab (Graduate Research): I designed and assembled custom PCBs and enclosure integrations for specialized biosensor ICs. As part of this work, I developed a custom GUI for high-precision control and data acquisition via National Instruments (NI) hardware.
- SkiCad (Embedded Systems): Developed a prototype for a medical skincare device, focusing on sensor integration and embedded hardware design.
Background & Experience
-
From 2015 to present: Technical Facilities Manager (formerly Technician) at CDI, maintaining high-end studio equipment and supporting student sessions.
-
Prior to 2015: Technician for Main Drag Music in Brooklyn and Lark Street Music in New Jersey, repairing guitar effects, guitar electronics, power amplifiers, keyboards, and synthesizers.
-
Musical instrument retail: Spent over a decade in sales across the NYC area (Main Drag Music, Lark Street Music, Guitar Center, Manny’s Music) and Music Central in San Diego.
I am a musician - playing guitar, bass, and keyboards - and enjoy making music on any type of instrument that comes across my path (woodwinds, brass, drums, etc). I combine my love of music and electronics by making my own synthesizers.
I hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from New York University and am currently pursing my M.S. in Electrical Engineering at NYU.
